Success Stories: Finding Work in Ukraine

Getting a great job in Ukraine is realistic if you know it is what you want to do and you have the perserverance and qualifications to make it happen. TryUkraine.com can be a useful resource as you pursue this goal. Here's a report back from a reader who has just landed a terrific job in Kiev.

Privet Rick,

How are you, and how is your business going?

I wanted to write and thank you for your assistance and the employment information posted on your “TryUkraine.com” website. It is good advice and has proven to be a guidepost for my success in finding an exceptionally good position of employment in Kiev.

For those Americans, or foreign nationals who wish to obtain employment in Kiev, the employment websites you have provided like “Robota.com” are probably the best possible to achieve that objective. First of all I would reiterate the fact that patience and perseverance are absolutely required to find success. I counted over 500 copies of my CV sent out in approximately a 6 month time period. It produced 12 initial telephone interviews (for contact in the USA) and five secondary telephone interviews (also contact in USA). These were all very good opportunities with established Eastern European and Ukrainian companies.

Because of my experience and business education, the best results for me came from the weekly listings in the Kiev Post employment section. Interviews onsite in Kiev for several positions, including one as a trainer and English teacher with Business Link, were completed in December and the beginning of this year. Ultimately, I was awarded two different position opportunities, but selected the one as Vice President of Business Management for a software development company with main offices in Kiev. It is a position far superior to any available here in the U.S. and I believe will be the best in my career. I begin work there the end of next month.

Thank you again, and wish you only continued success.

Sincerely yours,

[...], Sr. MBA/TM

Vice President of Business Development and Marketing
