Pictures of Tyachiv and Surroundings
Tyachiv and the small towns around it in the Tisa River valley are quite poor, but they have an interesting mix of different cultures (Ukrainian, Rusyn, Romanian, and Hungarian). This area is not easily accessible from Kiev, but it is very easy to drive in from Hungary or Slovakia.

Vyshkove
Vyshkove is a historically Hungarian town by the Romanian border. Most residents speak Ukrainian, but many signs are in Hungarian as well.

The market looks like any small-town Ukrainian market. |
