Pictures of Transcarpathia

Transcarpathia — the small region west of the Carpathian Mountains — is one of the most fascinating areas of Ukraine. Historically Transcarpathia (also called "Zakarpattia") has belonged to many different countries and has a mix of ethnicities and languages. The region is becoming popular for investment because of its proximity to the expanding European Union and its cheap labor resources. In addition, it has great natural resources — especial mineral water springs — and is developing into a tourist destination for central Europeans.
