Kirovohrad Region Photo Gallery

Kirovohrad Region (oblast) is in the very center of Ukraine in the steppe, or prairie, zone. It is similar to, say, central Ohio in geography and climate. There isn't much industry out here — just small towns and villages, farms, and broad river valleys. The region's capital — Kirovohrad — is a small, poor town with little of interest, but the surrounding countryside is quite unspoiled and scenic.
