= the best and highest quality photos (in our opinion).

Luhansk is an industrial town on the eastern border with Russia. It has a couple of recently built Orthodox cathedrals. |

Luhansk is not a common tourist destination, but these churches are quite a sight.

Zaporizhzhya (Zaporozhye)
Zaporizhzhya is also in an industrial region not known for its environmental cleanliness. It is located on the same Dnipro River that flows through Kiev. Its main historical site is the island of Khortytsia (now the name of a popular vodka brand).

Khortytsia island is a nature reserve and historical site. |

Khortytsia was a center of the Zaporizhzhya Cossack movement.
|

Zaporizhzhya and nearby Dnepropetrovsk are known for their heavy industry. |
