Pictures of Chernihiv: Ukraine's Most Ancient Churches
Chernihiv is one of the oldest towns in Ukraine and is home to some of Ukraine's most ancient churches (tied with Kiev's Sofia cathedral). Chernihiv is a pleasant small town with stately buildings from the Russian Imperial period and, of course, the much more ancient Orthodox churches. Chernihiv is only a two-hour drive north from Kiev, and minibuses leave a few times each hour from outside Lisova metro station. There's plenty to do and see for an entire day or even two days.
