Ukrainian Consulates near Ukraine

July 30, 2010

Foreigners who stay in Ukraine for more than a few months sometimes have to visit Ukrainian consulates in neighboring countries. Why? Because one cannot get a Ukrainian visa within Ukraine. You must visit a Ukrainian consulate outside of the country, and not necessarily in your country of permanent residence (citizenship).

For many expats the Krakow (Cracow) consulate is one of the most convenient to visit. I have personally been there quite a few times and have written a report on a visa trip to the Ukrainian consulate in Krakow. Others, however, are even closer, but I do not yet have experience working with them.

List of Ukrainian consulates near Ukraine

This list includes only the closest consulates. They are listed in order of duration of train travel from Kiev. For a full list, see the site of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (English version). For instance, there are Ukrainian embassies in capitals such as Chisinau (Moldava), Warsaw (Poland), Bratislava (Slovakia), Budapest (Hungary), and Bucharest (Romania).
